This action research was conducted to improve the Senior High School (SHS) students’ academic performance in Contemporary Performing Arts through the “Isajaw an Kultura” intervention. This made use of quantitative method design characterized by the collection and analysis of data. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling because only those Grade 12 students enrolled under the Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions subject and have an average rating of 80-85% in the performance task during the 1st quarter were selected as the participants. A researcher-made questionnaire was used for the pretest and posttest. The pretest results showed that the control group performed satisfactorily in Contemporary Performing Arts while the experimental group performed poorly. After the intervention, the posttest results showed that the control group with a mean of 17.09 and a standard deviation of 2.45 performed very satisfactorily while the
experimental group also performed very satisfactory (M=19.15, SD=1.53). Hence, “Isajaw an Kultura” intervention is effective. Moreover, an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used in the study to find the significant difference between the academic performance of the control and experimental group. The findings showed
that there exists a significant difference between the academic performance of the control and experimental group in Contemporary Performing Arts since the computed p-value, 0.000 is lesser than the 0.05 p-level.
